We encourage both residents and visitors to give back to this island paradise by volunteering and donating to these existing community programs. In addition we publish articles that feature community programs in need of donations and volunteers. We have a ""drop in" meal policy, we feed the hungry no questions asked.
We help with school related expenses for children in the immediate neighborhood (Colonia Independencia). TCS provides assistance to local individuals and families with emergency food, medical expenses and medication. Donations support our community assistance program. Donations help pay for website expenses, taxes, and fees. TCS is non-profit and non-government funded. Welcome to the Cozumel Sun! Since 2006, TCS website, Facebook Group, and Facebook page has provided the latest news and information from Cozumel, Mexico. We have a few hundred books to clean and file once we find the shelves. We will happily accept old shelves if they are the metal approximately 7 feet tall. New they run about $2,400 pesos each at SAMS. Encourage them to sign up for our Facebook Group and pages. Let your friends and neighbors know what we have to offer. HOWEVER, please call ahead to make certain we are open until I can find help or change the days and hours. Our regular hours are posted as Monday through Friday 8 a.m. One other consideration is that I need to get both kids out of this house for rest, relaxation, and entertainment at some point. Possible Change in Hours and Days of Operations I am hoping to snap out of it soon! However, it is difficult with the number of day-to-day responsibilities that I have outside of The Cozumel Sun and Book Exchange Store. I started and did not complete an edition two weeks in a row. It has taken everything in my power to put this edition together. I have not recovered from my recent trip.
I am also raising a ten-year-old granddaughter while her parents are at work. My grandson has started military service Saturday Mornings.
